Finding the right pair of jeans is a challenge in itself for most women. There are so many styles to choose from, boot cut, flared, skinny, straight, tall, short, high waisted, low waisted and the list goes on.
Coming into the Winter months it is essential to own a quality pair of dark blue jeans in whatever style that suits your body shape. You can see what to look out for in my article on Jeans.
Most department stores now have whole sections dedicated to helping you find the perfect pair of jeans. I wouldn’t recommend shopping online for jeans unless you know the brand will fit you.
A Trench coat is a timeless piece in your wardrobe that you will wear time and time again. If you can afford a designer one such as Burberry or Aquascutum then I strongly advise that you do so.
A designer coat will be a better cut and fabric to its high-street counter part. Watch out for the shape as Trench coats can swap you. Ensure that the hem is just below the knee and that the shape is neat. The belt on a trench will nip you in at the waist and give you a polished look.
Blazer or Jacket
A quality cut blazer or jacket can be the beginning of many great outfits. If you go for a simple cut in a quality fabric in a non-trend colour such as navy blue, black or grey you can expect the jacket to see you through many Winter seasons. A jacket can easily be paired over a dress, trousers or a skirt.
A couple of light-weight wool cardigans will add versatility to your wardrobe. Wear them with a simple tank or long-sleeved top underneath for a simple, chic look. To dress up a cardigan simply add a gorgeous necklace and away you go!
A Black Dress
A LBD has been a wardrobe essential for decades. Made famous by Audrey Hepburn there is definitely truth to when all else fails, go for the LBD. Every woman should have one in their closet. For Winter stick to heavier fabrics such as wool, crepe and ensure that you choose a style that suits your figure.
I have worn my hand-made leather boots for many seasons so it’s definitely worth investing in a quality pair when it comes to boots. For an everyday style, stick to flat styles in either a riding style or simple pointed toe. For evening, a pair of either black leather or patent high heeled boots will add height and elegance to any outfit.
Ballet flats are essential if you want to keep comfortable. They look extremely chic worn with a quality pair of dark blue jeans but co-ordinate just as well with a dress or skirt. Ballet pumps look just as good on both short and tall women as they don’t cut off your calves with any ankle straps.
